How Setlwork collects, uses and protects your personal data.

We care about your privacy. This notice explains how Setlwork ("we", "us", "our") collects and uses your personal data when you visit setlwork.com or use our services.

2) What this policy covers

  • Our website, web app and related services.
  • This policy does not cover third‑party sites or services that link to or from us.

3) The data we collect

a) Data you provide

  • Account details: name, email, password.
  • Profile and career info: location, education, work history, skills, job preferences.
  • Application materials: CVs, cover letters, portfolios.
  • Visa/sponsorship context you choose to share (e.g., current visa type or eligibility preferences).
  • Assessments and scores (e.g., Job Readiness Score, Visa Sponsorship Likelihood Score) and your responses to questions or tasks.
  • Communications: messages, feedback, support queries.

b) Data collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages viewed, clicks, referring URLs, session duration.
  • Device and log data: IP address, browser, operating system, app version.
  • Cookies and similar tech (see Cookies section).

c) Data from third parties

  • Careers/job platforms and universities (e.g., imported job listings or application status).
  • Authentication providers (e.g., social login email).
  • Analytics, fraud prevention and cloud hosting providers.

We do not intentionally collect special category data (e.g., health, religion). Please avoid including such data in your CV or profile. If you do submit it, we will process it only with your explicit consent or as otherwise permitted by law.

4) How we use your data (purposes)

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To deliver the service, including personalised job suggestions and scores.
  • To match you with opportunities and enable applications (when you choose to apply or share your profile).
  • To provide support, respond to queries and fix issues.
  • To monitor, maintain and improve our product (analytics, debugging, testing).
  • To keep Setlwork secure (fraud, abuse and security monitoring).
  • To send service messages (e.g., updates, policy changes).
  • To send marketing with your consent (you can opt out any time).

6) Automated decision‑making and profiling

We generate and use scores (e.g., Job Readiness Score and Visa Sponsorship Likelihood Score) to personalise recommendations and help you prioritise roles. These do not have legal or similarly significant effects by themselves. You have the right to obtain meaningful information about the logic involved, request human review, and express your point of view. Contact support@setlwork.uk to exercise these rights.

7) Sharing your data

  • Service providers (processors) such as hosting, storage, analytics, communications and support tools.
  • Professional advisers (legal, accounting) under confidentiality.
  • Business change – in a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, we may share data under appropriate safeguards.
  • Legal – to comply with law, enforce terms, or protect rights, safety and security.

We do not sell your personal data.

8) International transfers

Your data may be processed outside the UK/EEA. Where this happens, we use approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) and/or EU/UK Standard Contractual Clauses (with UK Addendum, where applicable).

9) Data retention

  • We keep your data while your account is active.
  • If your account is inactive for 24 months, we may delete or anonymise your data.
  • We may retain certain records longer where required by law or to resolve disputes.
  • You can request deletion at any time (see Your rights).

10) Your rights (UK/EEA)

Subject to conditions and exceptions, you have the right to:

  • Access your data and get a copy.
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Restrict or object to certain processing (including direct marketing).
  • Data portability of data you provided to us.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

We use the following types of cookies:

Setlwork is intended for users 16+. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.
